Training

Having a knowledgeable and efficient workforce is built into LPR’s culture. We believe in providing our employees with the necessary tools to complete their work accurately and efficiently. An employee’s understanding of their work is their most important tool, and that’s why we strive to provide development opportunities at all levels of our organization.

LPR utilizes NCCER’s National Craft Assessment and Certification Program to certify journey-level craft workers. With this assessment program, journey-workers receive credentials that validate their knowledge and skill. Also, included with this program is an analysis of an employee’s abilities. What this means, is that LPR’s journey-level employees are evaluated and place in training to continue their specific career development needs.

LPR also offers accredited, verifiable credentials to other levels of craft-workers, through our apprenticeship programs. Our craft training and development program is one of the best in the industry. It has been mentioned in numerous magazine articles, and has been recognized as one of the best by many leading industry organizations. LPR is accredited with the DOL and NCCER, and provides training for the following trades:

  • Ironworking
  • Welding
  • Pipe Fitting
  • Mobile Construction Cranes
  • Rigging & Signal Person
  • Surveying*
  • Crew Leadership*
  • Safety Management*
    *no DOL Standard

Safety

Through training and mentoring all LPR employees are empowered to be actively engaged safety leaders where stopping unsafe conditions is both a right and an obligation. LPR utilizes pre-task planning and JSAs to help ensure teams and employees are equipped to identify and mitigate unsafe conditions and behaviors. The JSA process also helps LPR employees to be prepared by asking and answering questions such as what will cause us to STOP and adjust. LPR’s safety culture makes decision making processes easy by following the simple expectation of doing the right thing. This “See it - Own it - Do it” mentality makes observing and responding a natural proactive choice.
